The project Alevi Archive, led by Prof. Dr. Markus Dreßler, Leipzig University, explores the ethnohistory of Alevi communities in Anatolia from the 16th through the 20th century. Based at the Saxon Academy of Sciences and Humanities in Leipzig, this is an interdisciplinary project that systematically connects archive-based historiography with ethnography, and socioeconomic with religious studies perspectives.
The project team will present the aims and objectives of “Alevi Archive”, introducing its sources and methodology with particular focus on the ethnohistory and Digital Humanities components.
After a formal introduction and 30-minutes presentation, framed by Alevi hymns performed by Hasret Tiraz, we invite for informal conversation with the project team over drinks and snacks.
Anyone interested is warmly invited to get to know the project and meet the team.
