The Research Centre for Comparative History of Religious Orders (FOVOG) at Dresden University of Technology and the Saxon Academy of Sciences and Humanities are organising a joint lecture series starting on 14 October 2026. The aim is to intertwine historical network research with artificial intelligence methods. The lectures are aimed at historians, especially those specialising in medieval studies, as well as representatives from related disciplines such as the digital humanities, computational linguistics and many others.
The focus is on two key questions:
- How can we use AI to analyse historical networks based on large, multilingual text corpora?
- How can we present the results digitally in terms of visualization and permanent preservation?
We warmly invite you to the opening and closing events at the Saxon Academy of Sciences in Leipzig, although you are also welcome to attend online. All other events will take place exclusively online.
All events in the series will be held in English.
